0x10C - Our presence?

I know it's still majorly in development, but what is your view of it.

I personally think if the server is 1 central one, we should make an Elithian Alliance clan/federation and if their are personal servers, someone of us should host one (or we may have to find someone elses to bombard ).

I would suggest all having 1 ship, but I think piloting ships with IRL friends might result in a stronger force. As we then have more effective members. I and my probably shipmate have both agreed that being part of this alliance would have benefits, but remaining with friends over voice chat would result in better ships.

Heck, if we plan in advance, some of us could learn BASIC or Assembly so that we can make an Elithain OS for the DCPU-16 computers and make some viral weapons to use against other players

Seems like this could be a nice game! I just hope the monthly fee won't be too high.
And I'll have to learn some basic programming anyway, considering I'm going to apply for a Game Design and Development study program.

I'm hoping that the cost won't be high as the amount of server space each person takes up should be quite small.

Also I'm thinking Alliance OS has a nice ring to it. But what would it need?

Nice Simple ASCII graphics (Green and white)
Direct control of Energy Usage by various components.
Ability to Save and load those settings
Share those settings with other players with the OS?
Password?
Run Emergency systems like sprinklers and damage control etc
Opening Splash Screen (1 Second) with a logo and tinyurl for more info.

Oh and yes I am planning way in advance. I need to learn and start work on it for alpha! I am not losing the technological arms race!

I really never have played a monthly fee game. I ope it isn't too expensive.

From what I have heard it will be a max of $5 per month.

So £3.14 and 3.81 Euros or $4.98 Canadian Dollars.


But single player is free, and someone will mod it to have personal Servers... (You know they will!)

Then I guess the fee shouldn't be too much of a problem. Do you know if the fee will also be in place during the alpha and beta stages?
