... I'm just gonna roll with whatever you guys choose to do. I honestly like the look of the new world. But, yeah I really don't mind either way.
Also maybe we should start a poll to make tallying votes for new/old world easier?

I don't think you know how MCEdit works lad, chests are displayed as entities and you can see entities from miles. Most of your good stuff is what you guys had with you when you were killed, which wasn't good at all. I don't care if my items with a total EMC-value of around 5,000,000 get lost because of a technical difficulty no, but you care about a total EMC-value of approximately 100,000.

Have you even seen the size of the plains of our city? There's no way we can build an actual city there, a small village would be all. And I am asking everyone, not just you: hence why I posted this on the forum. I am awaiting more responses before I decide anything.

And the current world is fine, for now. But I already want to expand my property, as I have loads of resources left and my mansion and power plant are almost done. If others want to expand too, we will soon run out of space. The new map would prevent future problems.

The server will be online in a few minutes. We can continue the discussion there.

By the way, Jorgas, you should be glad that Lyiin is the new server administrator. If I still was the administrator, I would've posted the same question on the forum but ignored all of your opinions and just continue with my plans.

EDIT: If you could turn the server on everyday at the same time, I would like that.

Hey, is anyone on the server using railcraft? If not I could begin working on it and we could eventually include a subway station to the city!

I'm sorry, I've been very busy today, so I wasn't able to put the server online earlier. It will be online in a few minutes though.

I think we should start the new world soon, btw. One of the things the much larger areas make possible is the existence of several settlements or even cities: for example, Jorgas Enterprises could start building its own settlement somewhere, away from the city I am planning. We could have all settlements specialize themselves in (but not limit themselves to) one or a few resources (oil, food, minerals etc), too. This would allow us to have active trade routes between villages.

I will be online sometime today, but I might not be on the server all the time. I just received my copy of Fall of Cybertron, and I've really wanted to play that game for a long time... I will put the server online though, and I will probably check the server log every now and then.


Also, @Lunark: I think no-one has used Railcraft yet, though I know how to use it (used it in SSP a bit). A subway station would be awesome, especially in the new world (fast transport between villages). The current world is too small to support a true subway system, unfortunately...

I think that we should also have a main city in the middle, like what we have now. And all of the other places would be connected and all tracks would lead to the main city.

In that case I'll move a bit away from the rest of you. If everyone stays in the same village, then we have to share all the resources, build all the same stuff. it's rather weird to have a city with companies that do all things, if I move away I wouldn't mind providing food for everyone, however prices will be a little bit high untill I can get to the village fast and easy.

Should the central settlement be a large city (like the one I am planning to build), or a small trading village?

Also, I did a little test with Ryiin today: I made the server use the new world, but with the player files from the old world, to see if we could transfer inventories from one world to another, and the test was successful! This means that we will allow everyone to gather their most valuable items in the old world, and transfer those to the new world. As the player files also store information on player coordinates, we should all gather at one location in the old world before we start the new world. I'll provide the coordinates of this location soon.

What's wrong with just moving everything we have in the current world into the new one. The current village could be the main village.

Would the transfer include items inside an alchemical bag?

I would love to set up Notix Ice, a cooling company who supplies water to people.

Of course there will be some paperwork, such as rights to land, and water and the terms of me supplying water to the people...

Also it'd be great to get my friend 1nty in... He likes Tekkit.

We've not really discussed what levels to use for what pipes and cables and such.
In the new world, the city I'm planning will have organized piping and cabling systems, but the current world is too unorganized for such a system.

About the Alchemy Bags, I'm not sure. If their information is stored in the player files, their inventories will transfer too, but I don't know where the server stores that information.

Well me and my co-worker have discussed it and Notix Ice is no more.

Instead we have 1NPipes out first. A pipe company!

Would anyone mind if we lived away from each other in the new world? away from the city, then build up your companies in the city. because energy collectors make it too easy to acquire everything. everyone is going for the high tech stuff, except for Notix' company.

I wouldn't mind. Also it would be a great way to use a postal service. Right now we can all just walk to each other's house. In the new world we could send letters (floppy disks) to a central post office using pipes and a worker/ automated system could send those to the recipient.

However sending letters would be almost pointless since we can just use the global chat. It can still be used to send items though.

How about we can only use global chat in emergences. Any other time it would be by floppy disk. There could also be a chat with you can only chat with people near you.
