erm... yeah, My house burnt down. we went a bit too far with trolling each other. Since the new world is gonna be in a few days I decided to not come online anymore until we get to the new world.

I think Ryiin said we sould start with empty inventories due to an unfair advantage of some over others. Since Aegonian is gone until thursday, we can't know for sure.

However, the unfair advantage is easily gained by having energy collectors hooked up to your energy condenser(s) so I think we should either Prohibit the use of energy condensers, or the use of energy collectors. This will break the entire EE mod, since the whole mod is based around the diamond blocks, so we could also limit the number of energy collectors/condensers you are allowed to use, or we ban energy collectors completely so you have to sacrifice other materials for your precious diamonds. This will allow you to make the basic dark matter, and with a philosophers stone you can make some aeternalis fuel, but it will make getting the dark/red matter armour extremely hard, let alone the Gem armour.

I was also thinking of a fun thing to do for the end of this world. I've located an end portal, but there is no main island in sight, so basically we need to find another end if we want to fight the dragon. Since that is going to be extremely hard, we could maybe blow up the world with nukes. If anyone has any other ideas, please let the rest of the forums know Smile

Well, the thing us now is that my house is ruined along with everything in it. Amd I can't reallyget on because of school and cross country. So I won' really be able to do much.

Sounds like quite some things happened while I was gone!

I think it might be better to start with empty inventories, yeah. It might be better to just give everyone a starting kit composed of a few tools, materials and perhaps a diamond or something.

Nuking the old world sounds like fun! Perhaps we should nuke the old world, then start an adventure map, and then start the new world.

I'd like to put the server back online soon, so:

Should we first play and adventure/challenge map together? And what maps would you guys suggest, if we choose to play one?

Should we transfer inventories (possibly giving some people a great advantage over others at the start), or should everyone receive a starting kit? And if we choose for a starting kit, what should that kit include?
I'm thinking of an iron pickaxe, axe, sword, shovel and hoe, 64 dirt and cobblestone, and one diamond.

Are there any other plug-ins we should use? Towny, perhaps?

I think that we should just start with a clean inventory. Starting with items in my opinion is too easy to start up.

EDIT: Can you turn the server on now? Because I will be open for a long time today.

I'm fine with any starting inventory: empty, starting kit or imported inventory. I'll open a poll with a few questions about the new world.

Also, I explored the new world a bit more in SSP, made a new map, and added a few icons to indicate where we could build proper villages:



I think I'll build my city at the lower right icon: it has large open spaces where we can easily build all kinds of buildings, and although the plains themselves may not be the biggest on the map, the forests around it can easily be cut down to make more space. It is also connected to the large central sea, which is a must for any large city.
Another option would be the lower middle icon: it too features terrain quite well suited for a city like the one I'm planning.

I think the central trading village should be built at the central icon (the one closest to the spawn): it features enough space for a proper village, and is located right next to the sea, allowing trade routes on both the land and the water. The forest at the spawn could also be cut down to place the trading village a bit more centrally.

Who wants to live in my city, and who would like to build a city/village of their own?

I think Jorgas Enterprises HQ will be next to the lake in near the desert next to the Volcano. It seems very good for my companies needs. Like lots of sand for our glass production.

That top right one is beautiful for a "totally legal and nothing is going on here" base. I would create a tropical paradise for people who want to go on vacation, And I will sell notix and jorgas coffee and beer Very Happy

Unfortunately, I think we'll have to find a new server host: I would be happy to put it online as much as I can, but school has started and I often get home late...

A paid server has a few advantages: constant availability, little lag (If you choose a good host) and such, but they can be quite expansive, especially when you wish to run a Tekkit server on them.

I added a THEA Tekkit Server sub-forum, with two sub-fora: Settlements (for information on all setlements) and Companies (for information on all of our companies).

How should we call our world?


Should we include some kind of lore on our server? A background story of some sort?

I really don't think there should be any much lore, if any. I would like the world to be divided between different provinces. That's my suggestion.

Thanks! I've actually used a slightly different version for quite some time now on a few other services, but I never uploaded it on the forum... I wasn't sure if I could make the background look good, but I think it turned out quite well!

Provinces are a nice idea! I'll try drawing a province map soon.

I've realised that if the server is lagging ATM, it is my fault. I fear that one of my machines may be overflowing due to it being under a world anchor. I will fix it ASAP, all I need to do is place 1 block somewhere else.

This may just be a fear, as I don't think our facility is truly automated yet.

I will fix it at about 4GMT, I'm still at school ATM.

someone has been griefing, and I can't tell for sure but I'd like to know if any of you know what happened, Lunark and I lost a lot of stuff, furthermore, my whole house is gone including items.

Also, I'm going to disable Energy condensers entirely because I've heard more people say they like tekkit more without them. unless anyone can write me an essay why they should not be disabled that tells me why I shouldn't ban them.
