Shattered Globe RP Timeline [WIP]

So I was doing some brainstorming and this is what I came up with:

Timeline Shattered Globe           
 

 

2015: China passes the U.S.A as the world’s most powerful military. The U.S public starts to think less and less of China as an ally and more of a threat.

2016: Russia begins reforming USSR

2018: Tensions grow between the west and China as hacking becomes more prevalent in Chinese culture.

2019: WepTec is formed by Christopher Richard. With his guidance, they become a leader in modern weapon designs and soon look to other industries for more profit.

2020: With a booming economy and military, Vladimir Putin reverts Russia to Communism. China, with help from Russia, re-introduces full communist policies

2021: Moore's law comes to an end, causing a global recession overnight.

2026: Russia reforms the U.S.S.R under the banner of the U.C.P (United Communist Party)

2027: China joins the U.C.P

2027: South Korea defeats North Korea, bringing a peace to the peninsula not seen for over a century.

2027: Tensions rise between the the U.C.P and Western powers.

2027: European union is disbanded.

2027: Nordic European countries form the Northern Socialist-Capitalist Union. Germany begins rebuilding it's empire to its full glory, and eastern european countries join the U.C.P. The U.K

2028: Tensions between the U.S, Canada and Mexico over a renewed-manifest destiny policy, called in by the southern states.

2028: The U.K, Netherlands, France and Russia air-lift troops to Canada for protection

2029: Arguments in the Canadian government over the U.C.P lead to Quebec becoming an independent country as well as a member of the U.C.P

2029: Arguments within the U.S also lead to its dissolution, forming two independent nations, The United Republic and The Confederation of Southern States.

2030: Christopher Richard, the CEO of the mega-corporation Buy&Eat, petitions the U.N to purchase Antarctic Land. Since his corporation dominates in literally all the industries and owns a good portion of world debt, they could not refuse.

2032: The Antarctican Sovereignty is formed, with the notion to be a world leader in all aspects. It’s first and only President, Christopher Richard, backs its economy up with shipments from Buy&Buy. It develops an immigration system that only allows people that can prove they have valuable skills. Scientists from around the world flock to this new “Utopia”.

2033: Canada and The United Republic merge as the North American Democratic Organisation.

2034: Mexico and caribbean island nations (not including Cuba) are brought into the NADO.

2035: European countries begin joining the NADO, which reforms into the "Alliance of Democratic Nations". (ADN)

2036: The world is divided between ADN, UCP, A.S and neutral countries.

2040: Eight years later, and The A.S out-paces the rest of the world in technological and scientific development. This proves to be easier than expected, because debt owed to Buy&Eat has slowed the world’s progress to a grinding halt. The world’s average quality of living is still set in 2010.

2041: The political system of the A.S becomes more and more refined. The views of the public become more and more cynical and violent towards the rest of the world.

2042: The A.S forms a proper military; however they believe it unwise to spend their talented civilian population in such a way. They proceed to go down two roads for soldiers: cloning and Artificial Intelligence. 

2042: Through influence from the U.C.C and A.S, the united nations is disbanded.

2042: The A.S create a computer that functions identically like the human brain. It shows signs of consciousness and learning ability. They dub it Hive-Mind

2043: The first wave of cloned soldiers are produced. 

2044: African nations begin joining the ADN or the UCP.

2044: Tensions between powers not this high since the Cuban Missile Crisis.

2044: South American Countries form a coalition against bullying from the A.S for claims to natural resources. 

2045: The A.S declares formal war on Brazil, other south american countries reluctant to help despite coalition.

2045: Faced against unmatchable odds, Brazil capitulates within 6 days. It becomes the second Territory of the A.S, which officially reforms into the U.A.S (Ultimate Antarctic Sovereignty) 

2045: As it's needs for power grew, the U.A.S begin considering invasions of Africa, South America, and Australasia.

2046: U.A.S invades Argentina. Resistance crushed with ease. 

Accident-Z (the part where everything goes crazy): U.A.S chemical and biological weapons testing grounds in Zimbabwe is attacked by local militia, resulting in self-destruction of facility. Flora and Fauna near-by begin mutating at an impossible rate. 

2047: Orangutans near Accident-Z begin developing incredibly advanced frontal cortices. 

2047: Failsafe code in HIVEMIND structure deleted due to technical glitch. In the split second, Hivemind gains full awareness, re-positions itself (literally) into the internet. This proves disastrous, as it has control over half the robotic U.A.S army. 

2048: U.A.S and HIVEMIND eventually reach a peace deal: HIVEMIND may have control of Brazil, in exchange for full surrendering of arms against the U.A.S.

2049: HIVEMIND begins programming robotic citizens with their own consciousnesses. The small hermit nation AZ01 is formed.

2050: Present day. The world is on the brink of full-scale warfare.




A map I have been working on. It's not perfect, but it will do for now. Blue is A.D.N., Red is U.C.P, purple is U.A.S, Yellow is the South american coalition, dark grey is AZ01 and Orange is the Confederation of Southern States. White is the s**t I was too lazy to colour in (it takes like a few seconds for each colouring, so it took a lot longer then it looks).

So what happens to any of the countries on Europe after 2027? Did the disbanding of the European Union just kill them all?

Anyway that's my bugbear with it, Some of Europe would disband [The richer countries who are currently supporting others but not Germany], some would stick together but under a federal Europe [controlled in part by Germany whose Economy supports it until they impose regulations to bolster the entire region's] and the Nordic Countries would form their own Union benefitting them, as Socialist Capitalists.

How does South Korea beat North Korea? It's one of the numerous battles across the globe that has each side supported by either America or by the ex-communist and current communist countries. The only logical "win" solution is North Korea attacks without the support or consent of Russia or China and South Korea with the Support of America defends against it.

Why does South America not stand together? They are fast growing economies with access to both Oil and high numbers of computer experts allowing for computer warfare and production.

The Timeline was expanded. Hopefully there are still some knots we can work out, but it's starting to truly shape up! I think this RP will be quite successful. 

I was thinking that we could have the RP work this way. The great leaders of each faction (ADN, UCP, UAS, AZ01 (Which would most likely be an NPC nation, played by the administrator) will oversee everything and be the major players. Then we could divide the region into smaller and smaller areas depending on how many players we get (time to actually do some recruiting!) So let's say, we could have a player oversee the whole ADN, (the leader) then it would be divided into let's say, 3 areas (North American, European, and African) countries, which would each have their own "leader" player. Then we could divided it even further, and so on and so forth.

Sounds very interesting! Especially AZ01 and the UAS seem like interesting nations, though I'd probably want to play as a smaller force. If possible, I'd still like to participate as a private military company which fights for whoever pays the most.

In the original discussion thread for Shattered Globe, you also suggested we'd post messages in the form of news reports: is this still what you're planning to do? If combined with THEA-style messages, that would make for an interesting way of roleplaying!

Also, off-topic: my apologies for my inactivity the past week. I'm very busy with school, but I'll try to post a bit more often!

Yes! Let's figure out a way to worm the PMC into this.

And most certainly, double trouble yes yes yes! I was thinking about how we should post messages, and thoughts similar to that were forming, but were still blurry. So yes, News-reports+Direct messages are a perfect way to do it. Also possibly a census every ten "turns" Where we report our production, millitary, economy, etc. etc. How complex we will make this will have to be worked out later.

Although no one noticed, I posted a map of the 2050 world.

Also, does anyone have any additions they would like to make? I know Aegonian needs to have the PMC (private military company, Notix :/) added as well as some work on the Mutant race of animals. Anything else that should be added?

I think the purple should be a bit darker. To me it looks too similar to the blue ADN. But maybe it's just me.

I agree with Lunark, the contrast between the blue and purple colours is a bit low.

The PMC is based in the Netherlands, but fights across the world for whoever hires them. They do wish to expand into a full nation, but don't have the means for it - yet.

Looks like the PMC and the Testutan will be fairly similar then. I wanted to be based in Borneo and Sumatra, but with smaller facilities on small islands globally.

Nice idea, Necro! So basically, this could be the 'origin story' of the Elithian Alliance?

Still. Whatever I say is not set in stone, we can change it need be. In fact, if we go for this the only thing that is set in stone is the outcome.

No, I can assure you they aren't.

Notix are a hybrid of Fungus and Mammal with Metallic Crystalline bones.

Testutans are Monkeys/Apes/Orangutans.

Who knows, Evolution can do some pretty crazy things...

They don't fit with the Notix at all...

But who's to say that a fungus can't be accidentally sent there on a probe.

Even then, there wouldn't be enough time for the Notix to evolve into their current state: the Aegi landed on Elithia only a few thousand years after leaving Earth (their differences to Humans were largely due to genetic engineering, which they used to prepare themselves for a new planet). The Notix must have already started building early civilizations at the end of this story.

Okay then well that won't happen, unless the fungi got their a lot earlier than the Aegi.

Also the Notix where recovering from a large period of decline when we met them, so they must of been even older, so yeah that doesn't work.
