Planetside 2

Anyone else gonna get it? It's F2P and well me and my friends agree on all joining the Vanu Sovereignty.

Wondered wherever or not I would be killing/fight alongside any of you?

It looks cool. Is it or will it be on steam?

It looks great, and F2P is always good! I wonder if my PC will be able to run it smoothly, though. If it can, I'll probably get this game.

It's Sony so probably not (It might be, but may be a hassle as you have to login with steam than your Station Account...)

Also Aeg, I'm sure you can drop the settings.

I guess the lowest settings could work. Perhaps I'll have a laptop by the time this game releases: I'll make sure it'll be a good one capable of running big games!

I read somewwhere that in Planetside, batles will continue forever: you log in and log off during an everlasting war between the three factions, is that true? Because if it is, that's awesome!

Yeah it's a persistent MMOFPS.

Basically, If I play as a Vanu, and I help them capture a territory (Over the size of you average FPS map) then log out, while I'm gone the over people can defend it.

They're may be custom map apps so you can tell how many people are fighting in each territory so you can join in your side on areas you want!

Vanu Sovereignty seems like the nicest faction: they use alien technology, which is (almost) always a good thing!

Yeah Vanu seem the most innocent.

I'm going to leave you guys with your FPS games... I like games where you can actually choose what to do like Skyrim or Minecraft...

What it looked like to me first time I saw the trailer: Mixup of Starhawk and Halo :O!
but I like both those games so I guess I'll give it a shot... once I'm finished playing starhawk and dragon's dogma (which is not out yet, unfortunately)

Open world RPGs and other games that offer great freedom are amazing, and I'm no great fan of FPS games (especially if they are PC-exclusive), but Planetside 2 is different. It has a great setting, gigantic battles, and it doesn't have the generic feel to it that games like Call of Duty have.

Yeah recently I've grown fond of good PC fps's (as have most of my friends.)

So we're going to campaigning around as a squad of Vanu, and hopefully surviving,

After reading the plot in detail, the new congloremate have the best intentions. They just want freedom and democracy.
The Republic are dictators,
The Vanu are crazy zealots.

Vanu got dragged into the war between NC and TR. They wanted simply to do science!

The Republic is the worst empire (being oppressive etc.), I think. The Conglomerate is okay, but I dislike their reasons for declaring war on the Vanu. I like the Vanu best, even if they are crazy zealots!

Vanu are Purple and Teal.
Terrans are Red and Black.
NC are Blue and Yellow.

Vanu have tanks that can strafe, and fighters the handle like you would imagine a flying saucer to...

Strafing tanks and hovering fighters? Awesome! Do the other factions have such special things too?

Erm not as special.


Terran has lots of high rate of fire, possibly a Quad-Barreled Tank (Otherwise just the fastest tank). And the fastest fighters. Bullet Weapons.
NC have more efficient guns (Higher damage per shot), the toughest and slowest tank. They also have the toughest fighters. Bullet Weapons.
Vanu have Energy Weapons, and hover tanks. Our Magrider has it's primary weapon not on a turret, but hovers and can strafe. We have hovering fighters, and laser Weapons.

Bullet weapons have to worry about bullet drop and tracer.
Laser/Energy weapons don't have bullet drop but have more obvious tracer (If you've played TF2 and seen the sniper's machina the sniper rifles act like that tracer-wise)
