Should we perhaps add subsections to the common technologies to add faction specific common technologies?

Such as the Trink Quantum Cloud processing and my concepts for Trink Weaponry?

Also should the AED be updated to have Pre and Post Blast empires to be done in separate topics? Perhaps labelled with [BB] and [AB]? It would clean it up a lot. Might also help with knowing what's happening with each faction.

Great ideas! I'll add sections for faction-specific technologies in a bit. I believe you have moderator rights in the AED too, so you'll be able to add Notix and Trink-specific technologies whenever you want.

As for the empires, I'll add BB and AB tags to the existing empires, and create new threads for anyone who wants to add their new empire to the database.

I was more asking permission, than asking you did it. I didn't want to start an overhaul without your permission.

Just a heads-up: I'll be quite busy with college the coming few days, so I probably won't be able to write a lot for the FNE. I'll try to get the first draft of the new Alliance treaty out as soon as I can, though!

Thanks! I'm not taking all the credit for the treaty, however: Veoline wrote most of the first version back on the Sporum. I updated the old one by removing outdated articles, adding a number of new ones, and fixing mistakes in some of the existing articles.

The introduction of the Avikan is something I've also been working on for quite some time. I've already written them a backstory, and have been working on a drawing of the Avikan for quite some time. I also needed a proper message header before I could have them send any messages, which took longer than I had hoped (I rejected three other designs before settling on this one).

On another note, I like your new message header! Did you make it yourself? I would probably resize it a bit vertically, though.

I did make it, thanks! I was debating as the picture you see is a highly stylized Hexagon, but I started it off with this picture:


And essentially simplified and blacked it out. Interestingly blackening it out was a mistake, but then I liked how it turned out. I guess the only thing I can improve are the weird scan lines.

I will be unable to respond to anything tomorrow, but I will try to on Thursday.

I invited someone to the RP, so she may join sometime tomorrow. Teach her about the basic RP history and how it works, please. Old Jorgas cannot remember everything.

Sure, I'll make sure she gets a proper introduction to the RP when she gets here! It would be great if we can get someone new to join the roleplay! Speaking of which, perhaps it would be wise to create a proper introduction thread somewhere. Currently, most of the information needed to join the roleplay can be found somewhere on the forum, but most of it is scattered about. A dedicated introduction thread might help in recruiting more people!

I'm currently working on a new message for the Aegi and for the Avikan, and hope to get it out either later today, or tomorrow. I've been working on school a lot lately, and still have a lot of work to do, which is why I've been a bit inactive the past few days.

She won't be coming until the summer, unfortunatly. Excuse was "Busy due to schoolwork". Don't shoot me, I'm the messenger!

For any newcomers I suggest you put an introduction section and divide it into lore so far (maybe updated every month by Dataproviders) and rules. Once they read this and are immersed in the lore and ready to RP, they may begin. Aegonian you could also put it as a link like everywhere. Sent from may goddamn phone.

I'm finally done with the big project I had for college, so I've got a bit of time to start posting messages again! It's very late here right now, so I won't be posting anything more until tomorrow, but expect a new post in the FNE, as well as updates on the Starbound sprites, soon!

Well I mean I've still been visiting, just haven't been doing any actual posting.

Anyways, thank you Necro for piquing my interest in the roleplay again! I won't be using your idea though... I've been thinking up some ideas and I've come up with something I'd really like to run in the roleplay.

I may not be very active for a while, I need to study for some rather important exams. I will try to post semi-regularly but can't guarantee anything.

Also how will we handle combat/warfare? I'm not seeing an easy solution.

I've been wondering how to do combat in the FNE too... Forumotion has an RPG feature that includes dice rolls which we could look into. I'm not yet completely sure how it works, but it should allow people to roll a dice when posting a message. Perhaps we can use that to determine the amount of damage or the outcome of the fight in case of combat or war.

Combat should be a challenging feature to implement. Aeg, if you could tell me more about this dice roll feature, I might come up with some possible systems for combat that include it/or don't, if that's what you ultimately think.

I'll be investigating the dice roll system some more soon, and will try to keep you posted. There's a highly customizable character sheet system that comes along with the dice rolls, which we could use to describe our nations/ships instead of individual characters.

I might activate the character sheet and dice roll system on the forum sometime soon to conduct a few tests.
